I lifted awkward heavy objects in my garden and found a couple of days later that I could not lift, and then lower, my arm. I was recommended to Mr Little by race circuit trauma doctors who suspected I had torn ligaments in my shoulder. Mr Little saw me promptly and diagnosed torn ligaments, CT scan confirmed. Mr Little performed the operation to repair badly torn ligament, told me I had 4 to 6 moths recuperation and physio to become every day mobile and gradually building up muscle strength over time to come. He recommended using a shoulder pulley, VERY good advice. I had a target of lifestyle activities to work towards and persevered intially with excercises 5 times a day for loosening up mobility then 2 to 3 times a day adding in strength excercises, gradually building up day by day. Keep at it and day by day you DO see improvements. I still use the shoulder pulley every morning to loosen off and continune with strength excercises but at 6 months from operation, I have been signed off mission accomplished and highly recommend Mr Little, he has fixed me ! Thank you Mr Little.

After visiting my doctor, going to physio and having an xray, I was then passed on to Nick Little at Cobham Hospital. I was then given another xray when he discovered I had a build-up of calcium in my shoulder. I did not have to wait long for the operation to remove this at Ashtead Hospital by himself. He came to see me in recovery and said all went well. Released the next day. Was given 3 treatments of physio at Ashtead and then further physio through my own doctor in ewell. I had an outpatient appointment with Mr.Little in February. Both of us so very pleased with the result. Mr.Nick Little always treated me with respect, spending time with me explaining what would be happening and why. Thankyou.

Having suffered a bad break of my left humerus near the elbow, I had an initial consultation with the orthopaedic surgeon Mr Nick Little at Epsom Hospital. I was impressed with Nick's professionalism, positivity and approachable demeanour which gave me full confidence that there would be an excellent outcome from the surgical procedure necessary to rectify the break. Nick operated on my arm on Boxing Day 2017 at St Helier Hospital, inserting a plate and screws the length of the bone to rectify the break and help restore it to its natural shape and strength. Thanks to Nick's incredible knowledge and skill, the operation was a complete success with no adverse effects from the surgery. I have been kept well informed of proceedings and timings both pre and post operatively. Subsequent x-rays and consultations showed good progress - everything was clearly explained and as there were no complications, I was able to quickly progress to physiotherapy. Seven weeks on from the operation I have virtually a full range of movement back in my arm, which is pretty amazing considering the severity of the break. I now just need to improve strength and keep to the exercise regime to restore full functionality. I would like to personally thank Nick and his team for the excellent treatment I have received throughout the entire process. You are a credit to the NHS.

During a period of 4 years I have had four surgical procedures performed by Mr Little. I first came into contact with him at a time of personal loss and appreciated his ability to combine professionalism and sensitivity. Mr Little has a great capacity for retaining detail, both medical and personal, and for providing medical information with clarity. His team of colleagues uphold his standards, being supportive, kindly and efficient. His secretary is ultra efficient, patient and inspires absolute confidence. At a time when, as patients, most of us feel quite vulnerable, confidence in one's surgeon and knowing what to expect is a great asset. Given the constraints of time in the NHS, I have never felt that this dictated the way in which I was treated or my concerns addressed. I have been so fortunate to have received excellent treatment, whilst feeling confident that I could expect the best outcome possible, as explained to me. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Little and remain indebted for the wonderful care I have experienced. I'm sure that he would be disappointed if I failed to add that the nursing staff, physios and all with whom I came into contact at Epsom Hospital and Leatherhead Hospital Outpatient Department have enhanced my experience. In addition to all this, although not a priority, there is scarcely any evidence that I have had surgery!

Saw Nick about a full rupture of right distal bicep on the Friday after injuring it climbing on the Monday. Nick assessed the arm and asked if I wanted it fixed. He ran through the options of fixing versus leaving the rupture alone. As I climb and wanted to get back to climbing, I asked for it to be fixed. I attended surgery the folding Tuesday (8 days after the injury) and saw Nick after the surgery. All went well, he said. I had the stitches out 10 days later, when the arm came out of the sling and bandages. Very neat scar on right forearm and good tendon attachment. After the first month (just movement to restore flexibility and full range of arm positions), I went back to climbing. Just light, easy routes. Have been climbing twice a week since and getting back to where I was before the injury. Had my 2 month check up today, admitted I'd been climbing and showed Nick a video of what I'd been doing. He was, perhaps, a little taken aback by the amount of use I was putting it through but was happy that I was being sensible with what I was doing and that I had no issues with it. I'll wait another month or so before returning to full training with pull ups and chin ups (the full flexion is the bit I'm most cautious with) and I'm sure the bicep will return to its normal size once I start putting more weight through it. Overall, really nice guy who had done an amazing job on reattaching my bicep. Really professional but friendly and a very skilled surgeon. Amazing stuff, can't believe that in less than 3 weeks from injuring myself, I was out of bandages and stitches removed, all on the NHS and I was back climbing 4 weeks later. Thanks Doctor Nick!
